Large-scale forest fire in Kyiv region: no excess of harmful substances in the air detected

The air quality in the Kyiv region remains stable, and radiation levels are within normal limits. Rescuers continue to extinguish a large-scale forest fire in the Exclusion Zone covering 1,200 hectares.
According to the results of average daily observations, air quality in the Kyiv region remains stable – no exceedances of permissible concentrations of harmful substances were detected, and the gamma radiation level corresponds to the natural background. This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, according to UNN.

According to available information, air quality monitoring is carried out at 16 points in various cities and towns of the Kyiv region. Specifically, in Brovary, Bila Tserkva, Boryspil, Pereyaslav, Vyshhorod, Boyarka, Obukhiv, Kaharlyk, Uzyn, Bohuslav, Vasylkiv, Irpin, Ivankiv, Vyshneve, the village of Velyka Dymerka, and the village of Pidhirtsi.

In total, 326 people are involved in extinguishing the fire, including 211 rescuers from the State Emergency Service.
