Kyiv region to be covered by fog on December 17: Level I danger announced

On December 17, fog is expected on the roads of Kyiv region, Level I danger (yellow) has been announced. The patrol police urge drivers and pedestrians to observe traffic rules.

On Wednesday, December 17, difficult weather conditions are expected on the roads of Kyiv region due to fog: Level I danger has been declared - yellow. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Patrol Police of Kyiv Region.

Under such conditions, it is important to strictly adhere to traffic rules, and also to be especially attentive and careful.
The police gave advice to drivers:
- You should drive with
low beam headlights or fog lights on;
- It is worth reducing speed and avoiding sudden maneuvers;
- It is necessary to maintain a safe distance, taking into account that in conditions of insufficient visibility it should be greater;
- If necessary, it is recommended to stop in a safe place, off the roadway, turning on the emergency signaling.
Law enforcement officers also gave advice to pedestrians:
- The road should be crossed only in permitted places, making sure that it will be safe;
- It is worth using reflective elements to be visible to drivers in conditions of insufficient visibility and in the dark.

Earlier, UNN reported that on December 17, fog with visibility of 200-500 meters is expected in Ukraine in the northern, central and eastern regions, as well as in Kyiv.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine urged drivers to be as attentive as possible, choose a safe speed, strictly observe the distance and use fog lights to minimize the risk of road accidents.
