According to the BBC, the Ministry of Health of the territory, controlled by Hamas, reported that an Israeli airstrike destroyed part of the last operating hospital in Gaza City. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the hospital housed a "command and control center used by Hamas."
According to the Gaza Civil Emergency Service, no casualties were reported. The Ministry of Health said that the building was "completely destroyed", which led to the "forced displacement of patients and hospital staff."
The Israel Defense Forces stated that they took steps "to mitigate damage to civilians or the hospital area, including advance warning in the area of terrorist infrastructure, the use of high-precision munitions, and aerial surveillance."
It is reported that doctors received a message from the Israel Defense Forces that they have only 20 minutes to evacuate patients and staff. Footage posted on social media shows staff and patients leaving the building while it is still dark outside.

Dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, were also seen fleeing the hospital yard, where they were seeking refuge.
