The planned operation aims not only to liberate the port, but also to advance further along the coast - up to the preparation of an assault on the country's capital, Sana'a. Experts emphasize that this is the largest military campaign in the entire war, which has been going on since 2014.

In response, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched hostilities in support of the legitimate leadership of Yemen. Over the years of the war, the country has found itself in a deep humanitarian crisis.
Recently, the Houthis have gone beyond the internal conflict: they have attacked Israel with drones and attacked shipping in the Red Sea, which has provoked an international reaction. The United States launched a series of airstrikes on their positions and held a meeting with representatives of the Yemeni government. Washington is expected to provide air support in the event of active hostilities, but at the same time is trying to avoid deeper involvement in the conflict.
