A statement from the Israeli army, published on the X social network, mentions preparations for further operations against the Hezbollah group.
"We advise residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate north of the Zahrani River, as all areas south of the river are considered a combat zone,"
The Zahrani River is located approximately 40 kilometers north of Israel's border with Lebanon. Thus, a significant part of southern Lebanon, covering an area of about 2,000 square kilometers, falls under the new restrictions.
The statement came after Israel carried out more than 120 strikes on southern and eastern Lebanon on Tuesday, despite the ceasefire in effect since April 16. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country must intensify actions in Lebanon to protect Israel's northern regions from Hezbollah attacks.
