Electricity consumption has risen; Russian attacks cause outages in five regions

Electricity consumption has increased amid cloudy weather. Due to enemy attacks, some residents in 5 regions are without power. No blackout schedules are expected. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy on Friday, UNN reports.

"The enemy continues to massively attack Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure," the NPC reported.

"As a result of shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions temporarily remain without electricity supply," the Ministry of Energy added.

Power engineers are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to all subscribers as quickly as possible. Restoration work continues around the clock.

"Electricity consumption has increased.  The reason is cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine. This leads to low efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the general grid," Ukrenergo pointed out.

Yesterday, April 30, the daily peak consumption was in the evening.

"Today, the application of restrictions is not predicted," the Ministry of Energy reported.

"The need for frugal energy consumption remains. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances during the evening hours – from 18:00 to 22:00," Ukrenergo noted.
