Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that U.S. efforts to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine have "stalled," but the U.S. is "always ready" to intervene, UNN reports, citing The Guardian.
We have played… tried to play the role of mediator, but so far it has not led to a fruitful result for a number of reasons. We remain ready to play that role if it can be productive. He added that the U.S. views the ongoing war as a "tragedy," "for which both sides are paying a very high price, both economic and, obviously, human."
"We are ready to play any role to bring about a peaceful diplomatic settlement; unfortunately… those efforts have stalled, but we are always ready if circumstances change."
