After the Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, Belarus decided to urgently strengthen the security of its own oil depots and redeployed an air defense unit that usually guards nuclear power plants to protect them. This was reported by UNN with reference to Belaruski Hayun.
Details
In particular, last week, air defense units of the Belarusian Armed Forces were redeployed to the Yelsky district:
- - The 1146th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, which has five Tor-M2K batteries. The regiment is tasked with protecting the Belarusian NPP.
- The 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, which is armed with the Osa-AKM system. The regiment is part of the Western Operational Command.
In total, two batteries (one from each regiment) could have been transferred to the Yale district.
Partisans from the Belaruski Gayun movement report that the military have been deployed in Yelsk and on the outskirts of the village of Polovki (located nine kilometers northeast of the city).
The village is located about 3 kilometers from the Mozyr Oil Refinery. Against the backdrop of ongoing attacks on Russian refineries, which Ukraine has successfully implemented, the threat to refineries located in Belarus is growing
Addendum
The guerrillas noted that after meeting with Putin in Moscow on April 12, Lukashenko announced his intention to strengthen security at the Mozyr refinery.
In addition to Belarusian troops, the oil depot can also be protected by the S-400 air defense system division of the Russian Armed Forces, located at the Bokiv airfield (Mozyr). Also, according to the guerrillas, last year it was reported that the plant was planning to buy a "drone surveillance system.
Preliminary units of the 1146th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment may be stationed in the Yale area until the end of 2024.
Recall
Following the recent attack by Ukrainian drones on refinery complexes , Russia is stepping up its air defense at the oil storage facility in Tula, deploying the Pantsyr S1 system to protect the city's industrial infrastructure.
