A group of schemers with National Guard officials received suspicions under a scheme worth UAH 150 million, elite cars and real estate seized - SAPO

NABU and SAPO notified eight individuals of suspicion under a scheme of embezzling over UAH 150 million from the National Guard. Among the suspects are NGU officials and entrepreneurs.
Eight individuals, including National Guard officials, have been notified of suspicion in a scheme to embezzle over UAH 150 million from the National Guard of Ukraine. Using illegal proceeds, NGU employees purchased premium-class cars and real estate, the SAP reported on Tuesday, writes UNN.
NABU and SAP have notified eight individuals of suspicion for embezzling funds from the National Guard of Ukraine totaling over UAH 150 million. Among the suspects are NGU officials (the deputy director of the logistics department of the Main Directorate of the NGU, the head of the Central Base of Production and Technological Equipment, and his deputy), two entrepreneurs-owners of private companies and the director of one of their controlled firms, as well as two appraiser-accomplices
The actions are qualified under three episodes under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As reported by the SAP, during the pre-trial investigation it was established that in 2024, the NGU needed real estate for storing military food supplies. "Instead of a direct purchase from the owners at the real price, National Guard officials conspired with entrepreneurs: they acquired the premises through a controlled company and immediately resold them to the NGU at a price inflated by more than UAH 143 million. The involved appraisers, for a 'reward,' falsified property valuation reports, indicating in them a predetermined inflated value agreed upon by the accomplices," the statement reads.
According to the SAP, the same entrepreneurs, in collusion with NGU officials, embezzled another over UAH 7 million during procurements of solar stations and tires for military units.
"Using illegal profits, NGU employees purchased premium-class cars: a 2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE, a 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300, a 2019 Audi Q8, land plots for development near Kyiv, a two-level apartment in the capital with an area of over 130 sq. m, and an apartment in Bukovel worth over USD 300,000," the SAP reported.
As reported, "currently, this property, as well as funds seized from the entrepreneurs (USD 340,000 and EUR 99,700), have been seized." According to the SAP, the suspect NGU officials were suspended from their positions back in May 2025 after the first searches.
The investigation is ongoing: the involvement of other individuals is being established, and facts of legalization of proceeds obtained through criminal means are being verified.
