A female officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received $14,000 for promising to facilitate the determination of a disability for a servicemember in order to secure his discharge. She was detained in Kyiv and placed under house arrest as a preventive measure.
In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained and notified an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that she was suspected of accepting $14,000 in an unlawful benefit in exchange for promising to facilitate the assignment of a disability group to a servicemember so that he could subsequently be discharged from service. According to the investigation, she initially offered, for $7,000–10,000, to influence the servicemember’s transfer from a combat unit to a rear unit. When this proved difficult, she offered another option — to facilitate the assignment of a Group III disability to him, followed by his discharge from military service.
The cost of such a "solution to the issue" was already $14,000. According to the investigation, in exchange for this money, the officer promised to influence officials at a military hospital so that they would make the relevant decision
On August 6, 2026, during a meeting in Kyiv, she received the agreed $14,000, after which she was detained by law enforcement officers.
She is accused of accepting an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with extortion of such a benefit.
The court imposed round-the-clock house arrest as a preventive measure for the suspect.
