World leaders gathered in Paris for the "coalition of the willing" summit to support Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who also arrived at the meeting, has already gathered for initial talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Kier Starmer, UNN writes, citing Sky News.
Details
Kier Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelenskyy gathered at the Elysee Palace for a short meeting before wider talks take place later.
Starmer and Macron are jointly hosting today's "coalition of the willing" meeting.
Later, delegations and leaders from 31 countries will participate in broader negotiations.

Kier Starmer was one of the last to arrive at the Elysee Palace, where German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President António Costa also arrived.
Emmanuel Macron greeted each arrival, after which the first meeting gathered behind closed doors.
According to Sky News, there are three things on the agenda today.
- Relations with the United States regarding Ukraine.
- Military assistance to Ukraine.
- What will happen if there is a ceasefire.
The third, according to the publication, will be key.
"Macron said yesterday that options range from satellite technology to monitor the border to what he called a force with a European mandate," the publication notes.
It is noted that the absence of the US presence is noticeable, although Macron noted that the results of these negotiations will be transmitted to the Trump administration. At the same time, it is added that with the presence of Turkey, NATO and Ukraine, this is not a meeting of "EU and UK leaders".
Addition
Zelenskyy previously noted that Ukraine expects more specifics from the "coalition of the willing" summit in Paris regarding which countries are ready to join the security guarantees for our state. In particular, it concerns the sending of a peacekeeping contingent.
Macron plans to use the leaders' meeting to discuss what he called an "assurance force" of European soldiers that could be stationed at strategic points throughout Ukraine to deter Russia from re-attacking after peace is reached, adding that it could respond to any aggression.
