The decision was made after US Vice President JD Vance postponed his trip to Switzerland, where he was to begin a new round of negotiations with the Iranian side. Earlier, the White House reported the cancellation of Vance's visit.
It was expected that the meeting would become the first practical stage in implementing the agreements between Washington and Tehran after the signing of a joint letter of intent on the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
According to the Pakistani side, which participated in organizing the event together with Qatar and Switzerland, the negotiations were not only to mark the achievement of agreements but also to launch their practical discussion.
The reasons for the cancellation of the negotiations are not officially specified. At the same time, earlier media reported that Iran was also considering the possibility of postponing the dispatch of its delegation due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East.
