At the beginning of this year, during military exercises in Germany, U.S. Army servicemembers faced Ukrainian drone operators. As a result, the Ukrainian drone operators defeated the American troops, UNN reports, citing The Wall Street Journal.

The "Combined Resolve" exercises in Germany made it possible to draw lessons from Ukraine’s experience, focusing on short-range combat drones. During these exercises, held in April and May, the ability of visiting troops to operate and defend against the proliferation of small drones used on the front lines—and which have become a dominant element of the Russian-Ukrainian war—was tested, the publication says.
About 3,500 American servicemembers took part in the exercises, mostly from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division. Their task was to attack positions defended by opposing forces at the training ground and reinforced by Ukrainian servicemembers from the 412th "Nemesis" Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the same time, Eliot Cohen, a fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank, noted that recent combat experience shows how important a role drones of all types play in modern warfare.
