On the twelfth day of the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, representatives of the Ukrainian national team competed in six sports. Boxer Oleksandr Khyzhnyak won the third gold medal, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine reported on Thursday in its telegram channel, UNN reports .

It is noted that in the medal standings, with three gold, two silver and three bronze medals, Ukraine again ranks 17th.
Boxing (weight category 80 kg): Oleksandr Khyzhnyak became the Olympic champion, defeating the current world champion Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan in the final fight (3:2)
Greco-Roman wrestling: Parviz Nasibov reached the finals in the 67 kg weight category. In the 1/8 he defeated Mate Nemes of Serbia (3:2), in the 1/4 he defeated Amantur Ismailov of Kyrgyzstan (7:6). In the 1/2, he defeated the current world vice-champion Khasrat Jafarov from Azerbaijan by winning the last technical point (*3:3). Zhan Beleniuk, having defeated Qian Haitao of China in the first fight (7:1) and Nursultan Tursynov of Kazakhstan in the second (7:3), lost in the semifinals to Iranian Alireza Mohmadipiani (3:3*) and will fight for bronze in the weight category up to 87 kg.
Women's wrestling: Oksana Livach lost to current world champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Yui Susaki of Japan in the bronze medal fight in the 50 kg weight category (0:10)
Athletics: Ukrainian race walkers Ivan Banzeruk and Lyudmyla Olyanovska took 17th place in the mixed relay, a discipline that debuted in the Olympic program. Oleh Doroshchuk reached the high jump finals with a mark of 2.24 meters. Vladyslav Lavsky, who stopped at 2.15 meters, and Andriy Protsenko, who failed to clear the starting mark of 2.15 in three attempts, finished their performances at the 2024 Games
Canoeing: Maria Povkh held two races in the 500m kayak single. After finishing fourth in the preliminary round, the Ukrainian failed to qualify directly for the semifinals, but did so thanks to her third place in the 1/4. Pavlo Altukhov in the 1000m single sculls, having finished fifth in his preliminary race, qualified for the 1/4, where he became the third and stopped one step short of the 1/2, thus ending his performance at the Olympics
Diving (3m springboard): Viktoriia Kesar finished 27th in the qualifying round and failed to qualify for the semifinals, where the Top 18 will compete.
