Ukraine and Italy are developing an agreement on cooperation in the field of drones. The leaders also discussed sky protection and the security situation in the Middle East.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. They agreed that the teams would work out the details of a Drone Deal between the two countries, UNN reports with reference to the Presidential Office.
I informed about the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine, our needs for additional sky protection. We discussed cooperation in the field of defense and agreed that our teams will work out the details of a Drone Deal between our countries.
According to him, they discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf due to the war in Iran.
We exchanged impressions from communicating with the leaders of the region and assessments of key positions. It is important that after this war there is more security, not less, and that the interests of every nation are respected. What security will be like after this war is a globally important issue. And now, all of us in Europe should especially coordinate substantively to protect both our interests and our way of life.
The President of Ukraine thanked Italy and Prime Minister Meloni for the meeting and support.
In the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Italy made a clear value choice – in favor of life, in favor of our protection. We feel this in every decision, in all manifestations of support and solidarity with our people. I am grateful for all the help for Ukraine.
