US President Trump reported that Hamas agreed to a phased disarmament in Cairo. Israel rejected the agreement, insisting on the complete demilitarization of Gaza.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that during negotiations in Cairo, representatives of Hamas allegedly agreed to a phased complete disarmament of the group. At the same time, the Israeli side said that the proposed terms do not suit it, reports the BBC, writes UNN.

According to Trump, the reached agreement will be an important step toward forming a new Palestinian government that will cooperate with the Peace Council he initiated.
The American president noted that the agreement provides for the phased disarmament of Hamas. According to him, after the completion of this process, Israeli troops are to leave the Gaza Strip, and international stabilization forces, together with the new Palestinian police, will ensure security in the enclave.
Israel stated that the document does not meet its demands
As Reuters reports, sources close to the negotiations in Cairo confirmed that some progress has been made, but emphasized that the further fate of the agreements will depend on Israel's response.
An Israeli representative told the agency that the country insists on the complete disarmament of Hamas, the removal of weapons from the Gaza Strip, and the full demilitarization of the enclave as mandatory conditions for any agreement. According to him, the 15-point document being discussed by the parties does not contain adequate responses to these demands, so Israel has expressed its objections.
Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their mediation in the negotiations. At the same time, there is currently no official confirmation of the conclusion of a final peace agreement.
