The prosecutor's office has sent to court a case concerning the embezzlement of almost UAH 5.5 million, which was intended for the purchase of 150 FPV drones and 20 electronic warfare stations for the military, reported Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on social media, writes UNN.

The specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Eastern region has sent an indictment to the court against an organized group: these individuals embezzled funds from one of the communities that were supposed to go to help the military.

As the Prosecutor General stated, the Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration allocated money within the framework of the patronage assistance program for military units and law enforcement agencies for 2024.

"The organizer of the group, who controlled nine commercial structures, involved enterprise managers and a communal enterprise official in the scheme. By forging letters from military units, they arranged non-existent procurements and seized community funds," the Prosecutor General noted.

Two episodes of fake procurements were recorded: a "contract" for the supply of 20 electronic warfare stations for UAH 2.96 million and a "contract" for the purchase of 150 FPV drones and 3 ground stations for UAH 2.574 million. In reality, military units did not request procurements and did not receive any equipment. The "earned" funds were cashed out by the scheme participants and distributed among themselves.

- Kravchenko reported.

"The court will put an end to this story. And the prosecutor's office will do everything to ensure that the verdict is fair," the Prosecutor General emphasized.
