The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine strengthens cooperation with the state for the development of prosthetics and rehabilitation - Byzov

The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine actively cooperates with state bodies to improve the system of prosthetics and rehabilitation in Ukraine. This involves improving communication between institutions, accelerating processes, and expanding support programs for military personnel, veterans, and civilians. This was announced by FPU head Serhiy Byzov, UNN writes.

"As the head of the FPU and the head of the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Defenders of Ukraine, athletes, and workers in various fields, I well understand the real needs of our defenders. That is why we cooperate with ministries and departments to improve communication, accelerate the logistics of processes, and expand state programs in this area," said Serhiy Byzov during the round table "Challenges and Prospects for the Development of the Prosthetic and Orthopedic Industry of Ukraine," which took place at the Vinnytsia Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, including Vyacheslav Chernenko and Inna Brahina, trade union leaders, representatives of regional authorities and veteran organizations, as well as the head of the Trade Union of Social Sphere Workers of Ukraine, Halyna Sobko.

During the meeting, participants discussed how to make the prosthetics system faster, higher quality, and more accessible. This included logistics, coordination between institutions, and the expansion of state support programs.

The "Vinnytsia Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise" is one of the key centers where modern rehabilitation aids are manufactured and provided free of charge to people with disabilities, children with disabilities, those affected by hostilities, and other categories of citizens. Here, patients go through a full cycle — from initial contact and measurements to prosthetic manufacturing, adjustment, and subsequent rehabilitation.

The round table participants agreed that an effective prosthetics system is not just about technology, but primarily about people, their motivation, support, and the opportunity to return to an active life.

"After all, behind every successful step is not only a modern prosthesis but also the joint work of doctors, rehabilitologists, social workers, and, most importantly, the inner strength of the person themselves. The task of the state, trade unions, and society is to make this path as fast, high-quality, and dignified as possible for every Ukrainian," the FPU press service said in a statement.
