On the night of May 9, air defense destroyed 34 out of 43 enemy drones and recorded a strike by an "Iskander-M" missile. The enemy attacked from Russian territory, as well as from occupied Crimea.
On the night of May 9, Russians attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Crimea and 43 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as "Parodiya" decoy drones. The strikes were launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo, UNN reports with reference to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
As of 08:00, air defense has shot down/suppressed 34 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as "Parodiya" decoy drones in the south, north, and east of the country
At the same time, a missile hit and 9 strike UAVs were recorded at 6 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at 2 locations.
