Romanian military divers destroyed two Gerbera-type drones that were drifting in the Black Sea within Romania's exclusive economic zone, approximately 165 km from Constanța, in the area of the Neptun Deep gas project. Romania's Defense Minister Radu Miruță reported this, UNN writes.

Details

The drones were spotted from one of the civilian vessels carrying out work near the gas platform. A coast guard vessel with military personnel on board was then sent to the area.

According to Miruță, Romania's Ministry of Defense contacted its Ukrainian partners, who confirmed that the detected drones did not belong to Ukraine.

To ensure the safety of shipping and operations near the platform, it was decided to destroy the drones in a controlled explosion. Romanian military divers carried out the detonation on site.
