Posed as TCC and abducted citizens: three men detained in Odesa Oblast

Three men impersonating TCC employees have been exposed in the Odesa region. They illegally detained people. They used uniforms and a car, and police freed one victim.

In the Odesa region, three men were notified of suspicion for illegally depriving people of their freedom under the guise of TCC employees. This was reported by the Odesa Oblast Prosecutor's Office, reports UNN.

According to the investigation, the suspects were members of one of Odesa's public organizations – they posed as military personnel. The perpetrators had uniforms similar to military ones, used cars with camouflage coloring, and acted allegedly on behalf of the territorial recruitment center.
Members of the criminal group, under the pretext of mobilization activities, stopped citizens using physical force, after which they placed them in a car. But one of the victims managed to call the police.
Law enforcement officers detained the perpetrators and freed the man. The detainees are being checked for involvement in similar crimes.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated based on this fact under part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 353, part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- commission of a criminal offense by a group of persons,
by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, by an organized group or a criminal
organization;
- unauthorized assumption of authority or the title
of an official;
- illegal deprivation of liberty or kidnapping.
The detainees, if found guilty by the court, could face a long prison sentence.
