Poland analyzes the incident of a probable violation of its airspace by a missile during Russia's attack on Ukraine. The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will adopt diplomatic decisions after technical details are determined by the services and NATO.

In response to the incident, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Maciej Wewiór, commented on the events on X. "Another night of Russian terror. This time it also affected Poland," wrote Wewiór.
"The incident is a direct consequence of the brutal attacks of the Russian Federation on Ukraine. Russian military operations pose an unacceptable threat to our citizens," noted the spokesman of the Polish MFA.
Wewiór also indicated that the country's MFA is in constant contact with the armed forces and relevant institutions. He emphasized that the incident is being analyzed in cooperation with NATO.

Wewiór also reported that in response to the incident in the Lublin Voivodeship, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski held a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha. Wewiór also emphasized the seriousness of the incident.
Sybiha himself confirmed the telephone conversation with Sikorski after a Russian missile entered Polish airspace. The head of the Ukrainian MFA highly praised the reaction of the Polish government and assured Sikorski of Ukraine's full solidarity with Poland. Ukraine is ready to provide all necessary assistance in the investigation of this incident.
The parties agreed that strengthening Ukraine's air shield should become an urgent priority for the entire Euro-Atlantic community.
The head of the Ukrainian MFA also proposed resuming negotiations with other allies on all possible ways to protect Ukraine's airspace with the involvement of partners.
"This is not about charity, but about pragmatic solutions to strengthen our common security. I believe that today's missile incursion is also a stark reminder of the terrible reality both our countries face: it is time to focus on countering the acute threats of the present, rather than on contentious discussions about the past. We noted the positive results of yesterday's meeting between President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Tusk and discussed the implementation of the agreements they reached," noted the head of the Ukrainian MFA.

A likely Russian Kh-101 missile violated Polish airspace on Thursday morning and fell in the area of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship. According to information provided by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the Polish military was ready to shoot down the missile. Ultimately, the missile hit an undeveloped area, and no one was injured. The details of the incident are currently being analyzed by Polish services and NATO allies, the publication writes.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, immediately went to Lublin to participate in a meeting of the coordination group. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the military, fire service, police, and the Lublin Voivode. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss actions after the incident and ensure security in the region.
Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz described how military operations proceeded during the incident in Tarnawa-Kolonia, emphasizing that the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, General Ireneusz Nowak, had already put all air defense systems on heightened alert on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. During the monitoring operation near the border, over 20 objects were detected. The decision to activate both internal and allied airspace protection services was made late in the evening in response to massive Russian attacks on western Ukraine.
