Shmyhal announced this following a meeting in Berlin with German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul on the sidelines of the international conference "Energy Security — Ukraine's Experience."

According to the Minister, the parties discussed cooperation in the development of flexible generation, modernization of energy grids, hydrogen technologies, and localization of energy equipment production.

Separately, during the meeting, they raised the issue of a joint project with Siemens Energy and Siemens AG regarding the relocation of a gas turbine to one of the Ukrainian thermal power plants.

"Infrastructure related to 'Nord Stream' must work to strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and Europe,"

Shmyhal emphasized.

The parties also coordinated preparations for the next heating season. Specifically, in 2026, an additional 46 million euros are provided for projects to increase the efficiency of electricity transmission, which will be implemented jointly with the German bank KfW.

In addition, issues of gas and nuclear safety were discussed. Shmyhal thanked Germany for implementing the first-ever delivery of regasified LNG from Germany to Ukraine in February of this year.

The Energy Minister also noted that through the Emergency Energy Assistance Center, Ukraine has received over 3.2 thousand tons of humanitarian cargo from 49 German donors.
