Speaking after a security cabinet meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed Israel's readiness to act decisively if a terrorist organization tries to rearm or restore infrastructure near the border.

Netanyahu also submitted a proposal for a ceasefire in Lebanon for approval by the full government. He noted that the duration of this regime will depend on the situation in the region.

Reasons for the ceasefire

Netanyahu gave three key reasons for the adoption of the armistice agreement.

1. focus on the Iranian threat. The prime minister refrained from giving details, but stressed the strategic importance of this step.

2.Rest for the military and restocking weapons. According to him, there were delays in the supply of weapons, which will soon become the subject of public discussion.

3. separation of the northern and southern fronts. This, Netanyahu said, will isolate Hamas, which will help put pressure on the organization and facilitate the release of hostages.
