"In 10 years, the war in Ukraine will hopefully be over. In 10 years, and in such a way that Ukraine becomes an independent, free, and sovereign country," Angela Merkel emphasized.
During the conversation, the necessity of military conscription for the Bundeswehr in the face of the Russian threat was discussed.
According to Angela Merkel, after the war in Ukraine ends, there will be no need for such a decision.
