Meloni stated in the Roman parliament that there is now a "fragile prospect of peace" in the Iranian war, "which must be pursued with determination." Echoing other European leaders, she called for a "cessation of military operations in Lebanon," and also listed a number of other Italian goals for the end of the war.

She also stated that Europe needs to re-evaluate its foreign policy and security strategy, as the Trump administration directs American resources to other areas. However, she added that Europe and the United States "must work to maintain unity on both sides of the Atlantic and strengthen NATO." President Trump criticized NATO allied countries during the Iranian war.
