Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže stated the necessity of continuing and strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia until the end of the war and the payment of reparations. This is reported by Delfi, writes UNN.

She made the statement during a visit to Azerbaijan, where she held talks with the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Braže emphasized that the international community must not only maintain but also expand sanctions, as well as strengthen cooperation to prevent their circumvention.

Support for Ukraine and cooperation with Azerbaijan

During the meeting, the parties discussed support for Ukraine, regional security, and economic cooperation. The Latvian side thanked Azerbaijan for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

They also discussed the development of cooperation with the European Union, particularly in the energy and transport sectors.

Separately, the parties touched upon the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Braže positively assessed the dynamics of the dialogue and expressed hope for the conclusion of a peace agreement in the near future.

As part of the visit, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs in the consular sphere.
