According to the NATO Secretary General, Washington remains a key guarantor of European security, particularly through its nuclear "umbrella." He added that it continues to operate.
Rutte also stated that the Alliance needs a "stronger Europe within a stronger NATO." He clarified that he "understands US President Donald Trump's frustration with some NATO members."
In addition, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty called on the Alliance countries to invest more actively in the defense industry.
