The source stated that one of the reasons for the refusal was the Trump administration's concern that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might leak the agreement before its official release.
The Israeli outlet i24 News was the first to report on the request and subsequent refusal. A US official called the report "inaccurate" and stated that "the United States has maintained close coordination with its regional partners, including Israel, throughout the negotiations."

On Monday evening, Netanyahu held a press conference where he barely touched upon the topic of the deal in his eight-minute opening statement. Following the press conference, Netanyahu stated that he and President Donald Trump "do not always see eye to eye."
