The July 14 thunderstorm in Lviv caused power outages and numerous fires caused by lightning strikes in various parts of the city, including residential buildings, an abandoned building, and a house in Rudne.
In Lviv, as a result of a thunderstorm in the evening of July 14, there were problems with power supply, and several fires broke out in different parts of the city. This was reported by the first deputy mayor of Lviv, Andriy Moskalenko, UNN reports.

For example, a wire running from the church to the houses on Kobylitsa Street was short-circuited. The State Emergency Service, Lvivoblenergo and the emergency service are working at the scene.
As a result of the overhead power line short-circuiting, private sector houses and two-story buildings around Kobylitsa Street were temporarily left without electricity
Also, on the city limits on Truskavetska Street, lightning struck an abandoned building with an area of 16 m2 and started a fire. Another fire was recorded on Washington Street - on the balcony of a residential building on the third floor. In addition, a house in Rudne caught fire.
"Emergency crews are also checking information about a fire within Horodotska Street in the Zaliznychnyi district. We are recording the voltage drop due to the storm," added Andriy Moskalenko.
