Due to grid restrictions, emergency power outages were introduced in 6 regions of Ukraine yesterday, and they are likely to continue today, with more than 550,000 consumers affected in Kharkiv region alone, although no power shortages are expected.

Due to network constraints on the lines in 6 regions, emergency power outages were introduced yesterday, and they are possible today, with restrictions already in place in Kharkiv and the region where more than half a million homes are without power. At the same time, there is no shortage of electricity.  In Chernihiv region, the wreckage of a "shahed" fell near an oil field. An enemy drone attack damaged the equipment of a high-voltage substation in the southern region. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Friday, UNN reports.

Generation, transmission and consumption

"Yesterday in Ukraine, due to network restrictions on Ukrenergo's lines, emergency power outage schedules were applied for several hours in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Sumy regions. Network restrictions are also possible during the current day. Today, restrictions are being applied in Kharkiv region - 550,000 subscribers are without power, including about 330,000 in the city of Kharkiv," the Energy Ministry said.

One unit of generating equipment at one of the thermal generation facilities was shut down for technological reasons, as indicated.

"At the same time, no shortage of electricity is expected. Ukraine's power system is operating stably and in a balanced manner," the agency said.

Consequences of shelling

In Chernihiv region, an overhead line was damaged as a result of shelling from the Russian border, and 704 consumers in 5 settlements were cut off from electricity at once.

Several overhead lines were damaged as a result of enemy shelling near the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region. Some of them were brought back into operation. At the same time, a local solar power plant lost power.

"In the southern region of Ukraine, an enemy drone attack damaged the equipment of a high-voltage substation of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo," the Ministry of Energy reported.

Emergencies

In Odesa region, a fire broke out at a substation of NPC Ukrenergo during technological work. The fire was extinguished by the State Emergency Service.

In Poltava region, an unauthorized tampering was detected on a gas pipeline - a welded-in tap with a tap.

"In Chernihiv region, near one of the oil fields, the wreckage of a Shahed fell, and dry grass caught fire. The fire was extinguished by the State Emergency Service, there was no damage or casualties," the Energy Ministry said.

Situation at ZNPP

"The 330 kV overhead line Zaporizhzhia TPP-Ferrosplavna, which is a backup power source for the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, remains de-energized. The plant is powered by a single 750 kV line. The water level in the cooling pond is 15.50 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.

Import and export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 6776 MWh. Exports are not expected.
