The event took place on the territory of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea and was a continuation of the tradition started by the President in 2023.
Last year, we started a new tradition - to celebrate the holy Ramadan together. The political leadership of our country, the military command, representatives of our Ukrainian Muslim community, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and the diplomatic corps all came together. Unity is always important. Unity is even more important when life is darkened by war and evil attacks
During the event, the President awarded Ukrainian Muslim soldiers with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree, and For Courage, III degree. He also expressed his support and gratitude to all those who help our country and fight for justice.
The Head of State emphasized all those who are actively involved in helping citizens in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
I also thank everyone who helps our country return deported children and adults abducted by russia to Ukraine. These are thousands of lives. All of them need to be saved. Every leader whose mediation brings our children back from deportation and saves adults from russian repression deserves global gratitude
In addition, in his speech, he expressed his wishes for peace and tranquility to the peoples suffering from the fighting, particularly in Syria, Gaza, Libya, and Sudan.
Also, for his part, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev expressed gratitude to the President of Ukraine, all those present, and the soldiers who are defending Ukraine.
You are now fulfilling not only your civic but also your religious duty. After all, according to the principles of Islam, war for one's homeland is a duty for every Muslim
He emphasized that he is convinced that those responsible for the war will be inevitably punished, thanking all countries for their help in protecting the Ukrainian people. Dzhemilev expressed hope that the holy month of Ramadan would strengthen the unity of the Ukrainian people to defeat the enemy.
The Iftar was also attended by the main representatives of the Muslim community of Ukraine, representatives of other countries, diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine, cultural and public figures.
Additionally, during the event, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated the important contribution of thousands of Muslim soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the defense of the country during a full-scale invasion. The minister noted that this is the third Ramadan they have spent in combat conditions, protecting the future of Ukraine.
We are very grateful to our soldiers who are working together to drive the enemy from our land, defend justice and peace. Our prayers are with those who died for a free Ukraine. I ask the Almighty to grant us victory over the occupier as soon as possible. That we liberate our homeland and our people as soon as possible and ensure the rule of law for all our fellow citizens from Yalta to Chernihiv, from Luhansk to Uzhhorod
The head of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Crimea, Ayder Rustamov, said the Iftar prayer, symbolizing the end of the fast.
