It is noted that forces of the 401st Brigade Combat Team detected a terrorist cell that "violated the ceasefire agreement and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat, during their activities in southern Lebanon, south of the forward defense line area, which was used to prevent a direct threat to northern communities."
Quickly closing the circle and in order to eliminate the threat, the Air Force attacked and eliminated the terrorists. In addition, the Israel Defense Forces attacked an underground shaft south of the forward defense line. Terrorists from the "Hezbollah" terrorist organization were detected entering the shaft, and a hit was recorded.
It is indicated that the Israel Defense Forces "acts in accordance with the directives of the political leadership," accordingly, the Israel Defense Forces "is authorized to take necessary measures for self-defense against threats, while ensuring the security of the citizens of the State of Israel and the forces deployed in the field."
"Self-defense operations and threat elimination are not limited by a ceasefire.
