The weapon used to kill Iryna Farion has not yet been found. The suspect was preparing an alibi, bought clothes for conspiracy and had funds for living in Lviv, the source of which is being investigated.

The weapon used by the suspect to kill linguist Iryna Farion has not been found to date. This was announced by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko during a briefing, according to a UNN correspondent.

He (the suspect - ed.) was looking for a sports pistol, which is usually converted to a 9×18 cartridge - a Makarov pistol. This is one of the versions of what kind of weapon it was. The weapon has not been found to date. I think it's a matter of days

- Klymenko said.

Klymenko also noted that a logical question arises as to where the suspect got the money, since a 10-day stay in a hotel in Lviv costs about UAH 10,000.

"The logical question is where he got the money, because 10 nights' accommodation is about UAH 10,000, plus food and other things. That's why we are working with the security service, we have some developments, we won't talk today. You have to understand us. We know roughly where the money came from from the correspondence. Perhaps we will say in a few months, maybe," Klymenko said.

Law enforcement also reported that the detainee had prepared a letter in case his plan failed.

When asked if his mother knew what her son was doing, Klymenko said that he wrote in a prepared text message: "I was hiding it, for their own safety.

"Here is the answer. The mother leads a normal life... So I think that she did not know what her son was doing," Klymenko said.

According to Klymenko, the SBU is also checking whether he had any accomplices.
