Electricity consumption in Ukraine increased amid cold snap
Amid the cold snap, electricity consumption in Ukraine has started to grow again . Today , electricity imports from Europe have also increased. At the same time, the electricity produced is enough to supply consumers. This was reported on Friday by NPC Ukrenergo, UNN writes.
Generation and consumption
As indicated, yesterday, December 21, the average daily temperature dropped by 1.4°C. The daily maximum consumption on December 21 was in the afternoon, which was 1% higher than on December 20.
"Winter continues, and the temporary warming is being replaced by a slight but still frost. The power system is already experiencing an additional load due to increased consumption. Please consume electricity sparingly," Ukrenergo said.
At the same time, 2 units at thermal power plants have reportedly been restarted after repairs.
Currently, the electricity generated by all types of power plants is sufficient to supply all legal and household consumers
According to the Ministry of Energy, "the use of planned outages for household consumers are not expected".
Export/import
There are no exports today. Electricity is imported throughout the day from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 14 ,011 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 771 MW in some hours, the NPC reported.
De-energization
In the central region, a high-voltage line was disconnected by protection action. No power outages were recorded, and the line was automatically returned to operation.
As of the morning of December 22, 397 settlements in Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Volyn and Kharkiv regions were without power due to the bad weather. The most difficult situation is in Transcarpathia, where squally winds and sleet left 271 settlements without power.
And in Kharkiv Oblast, 190 consumers are without power due to the theft of wires from poles damaged by the weather.
Due to technical damages, consumers in Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions are without power.
Due to hostilities and other reasons, 415 settlements remain without electricity. The shelling caused new damage to the power grids in Dnipropetrovs'k, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions.
