At least 30 civilians were killed in a drone strike on the city of Kutum in North Darfur. Among the victims were women and children, said UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric, as reported by AP, writes UNN.

According to Dujarric, the strike occurred during a wedding ceremony. The UN condemned the attack and stressed that strikes on civilians are unacceptable.
The incident occurred against the backdrop of the ongoing war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has been ongoing since April 2023. According to UN estimates, more than 40,000 people have died in the conflict.
Local human rights organizations accused government forces of the attack, but there has been no official reaction from the army yet. According to their data, drone attacks in several regions of the country have become more frequent in recent months and are leading to new waves of population displacement.
