206 combat engagements occurred on the front line yesterday, a third more than the day before, with the hottest spots being the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning summary on April 20, showing a map of the combat operations, writes UNN.
In total, 206 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.
Yesterday, the enemy launched 71 air strikes, dropping 253 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 7,767 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,916 shellings of settlements and our troops' positions, including 85 with multiple rocket launcher systems.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, particularly in the areas of Ivanivka, Havrylivka, Velykomykhailivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; Vozdvyzhenske, Huliaipilske, Liubytske, Mykilske, Dolynka, Charivne, Kopani in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit four areas of concentration of enemy personnel.
Situation by directions
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy launched two air strikes yesterday, using seven guided bombs, and carried out 100 shellings of our troops' positions and settlements, including five with multiple rocket launcher systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units ten times in the areas of Synelnykove, Prylipka, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vilcha, and in the direction of Bochkovo.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped ten enemy attacks in the areas of Kurylivka, Kolisnykivka, Kivsharivka, Borivska Andriivka, and Radkivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six attempts by the invaders to advance near Karmalynivka, Hrekivka, Drobycheve, Lyman, and in the direction of Shyikivka and Tverdokhlibove.
In the Sloviansk direction, our defenders stopped four attempts by the occupiers to advance in the Rai-Oleksandrivka area yesterday.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders twice near Holubivka and Nykyforivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 21 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Illinivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 42 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, Dorozhne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Zatyshok, Udachne, Muravka, Novopidhorodne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, Filiia in the direction of Novooleksandrivka, Vasylivka, Hannivka, and Shevchenko.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked four times in the areas of Oleksandrograf and Sichneve.
In the Huliaipole direction, there were 33 attacks by the occupiers in the areas of Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Zaliznychne, Pryluky, Olenokostiantynivka, and in the direction of Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Hirke.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried to advance twice in the areas of Pavlivka and Shcherbaky yesterday.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian units stopped five enemy attacks near Bilohrudyi Island and Antonivskyi Bridge.
No signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
