Ukraine's partners during the 35th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense in the "Ramstein" format announced the allocation of over $1.7 billion to strengthen air defense and purchase long-range artillery ammunition. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Telegram, writes UNN.

According to the ministry, about $1.2 billion will be directed to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. Nearly $1 billion of this amount will come through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism, which involves the purchase of American weapons using funds from European partners.

Thanks to the PURL mechanism, Ukraine receives critically important missiles for Patriot systems. The largest contributions to the program were announced by Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
