Police received a report today, August 11, at around 10:20 a.m. about the discovery of an object resembling a hand grenade in an electrical panel room between floors in one of Mykolaiv’s residential buildings.

Information about the dangerous find in the apartment building was provided by an employee of an energy supply company who was to replace a meter.

Police officers and specialists from the explosives service department of the regional police headquarters immediately arrived at the scene.

"Law enforcement officers evacuated the building’s residents and cordoned off the danger zone. Explosives experts examined the object and established that the find was a grenade and posed a danger to people. Police confiscated the munition and are currently establishing its origin and the identity of the person who left the explosive object," the police reported.
