"The dome of the church was on fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze over an area of 140 sq. m," the statement said," the statement said.

According to rescuers, there were no casualties.

Background

As a result of a Russian UAV attack in the Kherson region, the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, an 18th-century architectural monument, burned down. The church was the only surviving example of wooden Cossack architecture in Ukraine.
