Andriy Hnatov

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Andriy Viktorovych Hnatov is a Ukrainian Lieutenant General who has headed the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since March 2025. He received his military education at the Kharkiv Institute of Tank Troops, from which he graduated in 2001. He rose through the ranks from a tank platoon commander to chief of staff - deputy commander of a separate marine infantry brigade, and then to head of the 36th separate marine infantry brigade, chief of staff - deputy commander of the Operational Command "South" troops, and commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
