Military formation
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are a military formation that, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, is entrusted with the defense of the state, the protection of its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability. They were created on August 24, 1991, after the declaration of independence, inheriting a significant military potential of the former USSR.
Throughout their history, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have actively participated in international peacekeeping missions, and since 2014, they have been confronting large-scale aggression by the Russian Federation. The modern Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrate a high level of professionalism, courage, and resilience, having gained recognition as one of the most combat-ready armies in the world. They successfully adapt new forms and methods of conducting military operations, actively implementing NATO standards.
