The Ministry of Defense is developing and testing multi-layer explosive-proof boots with Kevlar insoles to protect the feet of deminers and prevent serious leg injuries during demining missions.

The Ministry of Defense is developing anti-explosive boots for sappers to reduce the risk of leg injuries during demining tasks, UNN reports.

Details

The Central Logistics Development and Support Directorate, together with the Support Forces Command, is testing explosive-proof boots for Ukrainian sappers.

"In fact, these are multilayer boots with Kevlar (ballistic) insoles. The footwear will help to trap the debris in the sole and prevent serious injuries to the sappers. The main task of such footwear is to save the limb," Deputy Defense Minister Vitaliy Polovenko told .

According to the requirements, anti-explosive boots must protect the feet from the dangerous effects of certain types of anti-personnel explosive devices.

"Our specialists from the Central Directorate are studying various samples of such footwear. They are working on improving the tactical and technical characteristics. Based on the results of positive tests and an approved reference model, such mine-resistant footwear will be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," added Vitaliy Polovenko.
