President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the latest meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, during which special attention was paid to providing for combat brigades, the supply of long-range 155mm shells, and the strengthening of air defense systems, UNN reports.
According to the President, the meeting included a detailed analysis of the implementation of decisions made following appeals from military personnel on the front lines in the second half of 2025.
Brigades given more funding and capabilities
Zelenskyy noted that one of the key decisions was the direct funding of combat brigades for the purchase of necessary equipment, primarily drones.
The approach to the distribution of personnel for replenishing combat units was also changed.
"Already about 160 military units are receiving stable, guaranteed replenishment, and this allows for more confident defense of positions," the President reported.
In addition, the number of military units authorized to conduct basic combined arms training has doubled.
Ukraine seeks to increase the supply of 155mm shells
Separately, the Staff discussed the issue of supplying long-range 155mm artillery shells, which the military regularly requests from the state leadership.
The President ordered the development of additional opportunities for the financing, production, and supply of such ammunition.
"Our artillery capabilities are of significant importance even now for achieving combat results," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ministry of Defense is also working on the supply of pickup trucks to the troops, and relevant decisions are already being implemented.
Strengthening air defense remains a key priority
During the meeting, special attention was paid to air defense systems.
The President stated that he expects significantly more activity from Ukrainian diplomats regarding the strengthening of air defense and the supply of missiles to protect cities and communities.
Zelenskyy also instructed the Ministry of Defense to intensify all formats of cooperation with partners to obtain anti-ballistic defense systems.
"We must find what Ukraine needs," the head of state emphasized.
A separate report on the situation at the front was presented by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to the president, Ukrainian positions remain strong, which should also support Ukraine's diplomatic efforts.
