The Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) purchased a record number of 155mm shells and saved 16% of the funds. This allowed for the acquisition of tens of thousands of additional rounds for the Defense Forces.

The DOT Defense Procurement Agency has contracted a record number of long-range 155 mm artillery rounds, and thanks to competition, it managed to save 16% of the initial amount. This was reported by Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, according to UNN.
Long-range 155 mm artillery rounds are one of the front line's greatest demands. The DOT DPA has already contracted the largest batch of these rounds in the agency's history — and tens of thousands more will arrive at the front than originally expected
According to him, 6 manufacturers became the winners in the record procurement of long-range 155 mm artillery rounds, and contracts for supplies to the Defense Forces have already been signed with all of them.
Competition and transparent terms made it possible to save 16% of the initial amount — which amounts to billions of hryvnias. As a result, it was possible to additionally contract tens of thousands more rounds. Soon the enemy will feel this difference for themselves
According to the head of the defense department, the next step will be to scale competitive procurement for FPV, mid-strike, and deep-strike drones.
In the summer, we will move to tender procedures in all possible defense procurements. More competition and savings mean more means for destroying Russians
According to him, the system reduces dependence on a single supplier. Large procurements can be distributed among several manufacturers. Part of the procedures will take place in the Prozorro electronic system.
"At the same time, the safety of defense enterprises and people remains a priority, so we are launching the process gradually and taking all risks into account," the minister added.
