Overnight, the plant switched to diesel generators due to the disconnection of the last power line. The IAEA emphasizes the precarious state of nuclear safety at the facility.

The Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant temporarily lost all external power supply overnight on Friday—for the sixteenth time already, the IAEA reported, according to UNN.
For the 16th time during the military conflict, the Zaporizhzhia NPP temporarily lost all external power supply during the night. Emergency diesel generators kicked in to provide electricity for essential safety functions during the hour-long outage before the plant was reconnected to its sole remaining power line,
As the IAEA indicated, "the cause of the incident is not yet known," but according to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, "the incident highlights that nuclear safety remains precarious."
