An anonymous advisor to Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian troops control the Sudzha station in Russia. Gas continues to flow through the station, which is the last point of transportation of Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine.

Ukrainian troops, who allegedly broke through the border in the Kursk region of Russia, control the Sudzha gas metering station, located about 8 kilometers inland from Russia. An anonymous adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in a commentary to the Washington Post, UNN reports.

The newspaper's analysts suggest that Kyiv may aim to cut off Russian gas supplies to Europe, using this as a lever of pressure.

Nevertheless, as the newspaper noted, as of Thursday, gas continued to flow through Sudzha, the last functioning transportation point for the pipeline that supplies Russian natural gas to Europe via Ukraine.

It should be emphasized that Ukraine has not officially commented on the situation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Addendum

The first reports about the seizure of the Sudzha station appeared yesterday. At that time, Russian propagandists claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had allegedly advanced in the Kursk region of Russia and taken control of several facilities on the territory of Russia.

The governor of the Kursk region announced the introduction of a state of emergency due to the difficult situation in the border areas. This decision was made amid reports of a possible seizure of the town of Sudzha and a gas distribution station by the Ukrainian armed forces.
