Ukrainians with disabilities to receive up to UAH 50,000 in compensation for car retrofitting
Kyiv • UNN
The Ukrainian government has approved a decision to compensate for the costs of retrofitting cars for people with disabilities. The payment amount will be up to UAH 50,000, and applications can be submitted in person or online.

In Ukraine, people with disabilities will be able to receive compensation for car retrofitting. The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, UNN reports.
People with disabilities will be able to receive compensation for car retrofitting. Compensation applies to cars owned by the person — regardless of whether it is new or used.
The Prime Minister also explained how it will work:
🔸the person retrofits the car, makes a mark in the driver's license, registers the changes, and confirms the expenses with documents;
🔸the application for compensation is submitted to the territorial department of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities. This can be done in person or through an electronic cabinet on the Ministry of Social Policy's web portal, as well as through Diia;
🔸the decision on payment is made within 3 working days, and the funds will be credited within 10 working days after they are received by the Fund's accounts.
The amount of payment will correspond to actual expenses up to UAH 50,000. Funding of about UAH 30 million is provided for next year. We previously adopted a similar decision for veterans.
