The Turkish authorities have warned Telegram that the messenger may be blocked in the country, Takvim, Sabah and other Turkish media outlets reported, citing sources, UNN reports.

The reason was the lack of response to the demand to close the channels with illegal information.
Allegedly, Ankara sent Telegram more than 1,000 warnings, but received no response. The authorities found channels in the messenger that sell drugs, promote prostitution, gambling, and distribute videos with child pornography.
Telegram has about 8 million registered users from Turkey. The country is ranked 10th by this indicator.
Context
In early August, Turkey blocked Instagram for violating local laws. On August 10, access was restored as the parties managed to reach an agreement on the fulfillment of the requirements.
