Trump supported missile aid for Ukraine, while Zelenskyy called on the EU to create a joint air defense system. Kyiv seeks to obtain licenses for the production of Patriot missiles.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that US President Donald Trump has a positive attitude toward the idea of assisting Ukraine with missile weaponry. The Head of State also emphasized the need to increase pressure on Russia and called for the creation of a pan-European missile defense system. Zelenskyy said this during a conversation with journalists on the sidelines of the G7 summit, UNN reports with reference to The Guardian.
The President of Ukraine noted that he continues to insist on granting Kyiv a license for the local production of missiles for Patriot systems.
